Ok.. now flash video is quite simple to produce, but to get it right takes lots of TLC. To begin with you need to know that if you are to do a good job with flash video you need the right tools.

A good computer with nice processing power
a good quality video camera (shoot the video in the size you want to steam it at ideally)
good lighting helps improve quality and keep size down
a good video and audio card on your computer
a good encoding software (a professional grade encoder such as on2’s Flix Pro flv video encoder or Sorensen Squeeze for Flash pro flv encoder)
Next you need to assess your target viewers and their bandwidth and player capacities
you need to have a good hosting company that offers flv video streaming servers such as Adobe’s FMS3
the hosting company should give you a good pipe to the net of 100 Mbps and have a good monthly transfer limit
You need a good player on your web page and you need to configure the parameters to stream the audio properly and communicate well with the fms 3 server
you need to monitor settings and tweak them till the majority of your viewers are happy.

So get the camera and get setup and start producing some great streaming video content to keep us all entertained!

If you use Google Analytics and examine a website’s bounce rate you will notice that when a flash video is added to the site or some other form of interactivity the bounce rate decreases dramatically. This in turn keeps people engaged in the site and their loyalty increases. It is also easier to communicate a message to a web visitor in a short period of time and within seconds you find you have captured their attention.

Flash video is not that difficult to create nor is it difficult to add to the site. I will post soon a link to adding flash video to your site and creating a flash video streaming server on IIS (Window’s web server).

You will be able to search for a good video person in your area to shoot the videos or you can try and setup lighting and a small studio yourself and start shooting videos and slowly get better at it.

The increase in popularity of video on the web shows that video is here to stay and flash video particularly is universal and easy to embed on sites with no major difficulty.

I will be experimenting myself with this and share some of my experience with you my loyal blog visitors.
